We’ve been overwhelmed and thrilled with people who have let us know they want to support the making of Yinz by investing in the project.
Investing is different from backing the project on Kickstarter. With Kickstarter, there’s no chance to make a profit. If you choose to invest, you’ll have the chance to recoup your initial investment and possibly make a profit because the film will be setup as a for-profit corporation. You’ll also be able to write-off your investment from your taxes because the corporation will show a loss in its first year.
We’re not going to make any promises that you’ll get rich by investing in Yinz, but we do promise that we’ll keep everything kosher and aboveboard. All of our paperwork and contracts will be drawn up by an entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles, and we’ll have a CPA handling our taxes. Likewise, we recommend that you talk to your legal and accounting team before investing. We want to make sure the investing process is a win-win for everyone involved.
